The First Sin

by Cheyenne McCray

“Lexi Steele” Book #1

No seduction is too dangerous.

AN ELITE PARTNERSHIP

Alexi Steele is determined, relentless, and driven to protect the innocent. She’s a top agent of the NSA’s clandestine Recovery Enforcement Division, specializing in human trafficking and sex crimes. Her current mission: to infiltrate the inner circle of Boston’s exclusive S&M clubs in order to save thirteen young women who are about to be auctioned off to the highest bidders. But Lexi’s only way in is under the “control” of her new partner in crime, Nicholas Donovan.

AN EROTIC END GAME

Nick will do whatever it takes to bring down the billionaire sex-ring mastermind who’s kidnapped his sister. But the games he must play as Lexi’s “dominant” are burning away his icy control and blurring the lines between partners. Meanwhile, their enemies are closing in as they enter a devastating race against time … bringing them dangerously close to THE FIRST SIN.

Review: Warning: Dark and Very Graphic

Alexi Steele is a top RED agent. She and her team plan to infiltrate exclusive S&M clubs of Boston’s inner circle; young ladies seem to be disappearing from clubs around Boston, never to be seen or heard from again. Word is, the women are being auctioned off to the highest bidder. And Lexi is determined to bring them down.

Nick Donovan’s sister is one of those missing young women. His only hope to finding her – join RED. Assistant Special Agent in Charge Karen Oxford, Lexi’s direct boss, has been trying to recruit him for years – nothing but the best of the best for RED’s clandestine operations. He’s turned her down every time, but now he has no choice, for he’s sure it’s the only way of finding his sister. Plus, he’s been eyeing Lexi: he wants her.

Now Lexi isn’t happy to end up stuck with Donovan. For her, he’s too close, too emotionally involved. Now she has no choice but to include him in the op, and now he’s her partner. The man is gorgeous as sin; does she want him as a partner in an S&M club? Only time will tell.

And as they go further under cover, not only are they getting close to who is behind the missing women, but they’re getting closer to each other as well, and they can’t deny themselves any more. But will this pose a problem for their undercover operation? Time is ticking, and both are afraid they may be too late.

**An excellent first novel!

I’ve never read a full-length Cheyenne McCray before. Now I’m wondering what the hell too me so long, LOL!

Lexi is a strong woman with a difficult past. Her family has no idea what she went through a few years before. Details of her past capture and torture are what Lexi hold deep – no one knows the full extent. But during her capture and subsequent torture, she was given an option: join them and become their assassin, or die – very slowly and very painfully. To save herself, she did as they asked, never asking questions, yet always looking for a way out. And just when she was close to getting caught, Karen Oxford gave her that way out. Now nightmares plague her. Lexi is one hell of a strong woman, who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done, no matter the cost to her. No one in her family, save her brother who is also another RED agent, knows what she actually does for a living, and Lexi has to keep it that way. I think not being able to talk about her past, holding it so close, is what hurts her the most, and when Donovan arrives into the picture, she may tell him some of it, but he doesn’t look at her as a monster; he understands what she went through.

Donovan will do whatever it takes to find his sister. Both, he and Lexi are like pitbulls, never giving up. Both are strong, determined characters, and the heat between them is palpable! Whew *fanning myself*! Some of those loves scenes would have fogged my glasses if I was wearing them!

The action is superb. The mystery is great and I’m glad it’s not completely over, which means on to Book #2, LOL!

Warning: Memories of Lexi’s past torture, her capture by one of the current bad guys, as well as the BDSM aspect of the book, are very graphic and are not for everyone.

Surrender to the ultimate temptation…

Pleasure Unbound

by Larissa Ione

“Demonica” series Book #1

In a place where ecstasy can cost you your life…

Tayla Mancuso is a demon-slayer who hungers for sensual pleasure – but fears it will always be denied her. Until she lands in a hospital run by demons in disguise, and the head doctor, Eidolon, makes her body burn with unslakable desire. But to prove her ultimate loyalty to her peers, she must betray the surgeon who saved her life.

Two lovers will dare to risk all.

Eidolon cannot resist this fiery, dangerous woman who fills him with both rage and passion. Not only is she his avowed enemy, but she could very well be the hunter who has been preying upon his people. Torn between his need for the truth and his quest to find his perfect mate before a horrific transformation claims him forever, Eidolon will dare the unthinkable – and let Tayla possess him, body and soul…

Review: Pleasure abound!

Tayla Mancuso is an Aegi Guardian; in other words, a demon slayer. She believes all demons are bad, especially after witnessing her mother’s murder by a demon.

While in the midst of slaying demons, her partner is killed and she’s hurt. She’s brought into the ER of Underworld General, where Doctor Eidolon patches her up. But as he’s repairing the damage, he notices something else… Tayla isn’t completely human.

They are unbelievably attracted to each other; the sparks hard to miss. Knowing she would have to betray him hurts like crazy – for demons are abominations to be killed. But at the last few second, complete catastrophy is averted when Tayla throws her exploding cell phone out into the parking lot. While two demons are killed and a few more injured, it could have been worse. And now Eidolon isn’t sure what to do with her, for obviously the second time she arrived at the hospital, it had been with ulterior motives. Even though she should be questioned thoroughly and disposed of, he can’t make himself or allow anyone else to do that to Tayla. For he’s sure Tayla is his mate. But first, he must explain to her why she’s been having weird symptoms, what’s been happening to her body, and that he can heal her just as much as she can help him divert turning into a monster.

But not everything is as cut and dried as Tayla believes. And now that the Guardian cell in New York is trying to kill her as well, someone out there is trapping demons and harvesting organs to sell on the magic black market. But she’s sure the head of the cell doesn’t know what’s going on. The question is, who is? And under what authority?

**Oh, did I enjoy this book, I could count the ways. Tayla is stronger than she appears, even after the rough childhood she lived. After witnessing the murder of her mother, she’s determined to take out as many demons as possible before she dies.

Eidolon is attracted to Tayla immediately, even when she’s hurt bad the first time he meets her. Once she’s no longer out of it, the sparks fly and you’re feeling the static even as you’re reading it!

What I liked was her inner battles. While she enjoys sex, she refuses to let go. She witnessed her mother’s rape and murder – so while she can find release when she’s ‘self-servicing’, she can’t with a man. But I loved watching Eidolon bring her past that hang-up, and it was beautiful! The sex between the two is just as hot as the sparks between them when they’re not having sex, and it made this reader wish her husband wasn’t working nights, LOL! Whew!

There’s lots of action, a mystery, twists that have you wondering. And even though you get some of the answers, you don’t get them all, but the way it’s written, you’re not left feeling frustrated. In fact, you’re left feeling excited and anticipating the next novel in the series. My only mistake: not having Desire Unchained on-hand to read next, LOL! I liked the descriptions of the different demon races, from those that love to kill to those that wouldn’t harm a fly. Definitely a novel, a series, worth reading!

Together for the first time – the acclaimed novel and novella that turned Knight into “a rising star in the paranormal pantheon” (Midwest Book Review) – plus two never-before-published stories set in an erotically charged workd that “will set your blood on fire and have you begging for mre…” (In The Library Reviews)

In Jane’s Warlord reporter Jane Colby has made a startling discovery about a recent murder. The killer has struck before – hundreds of years in the past. Now’s he’s jumped through time to find his next victim … Jane. Her only hope lies with Baran Arvid – a genetically engineered warrior from hundreds of years in the future sent to capture the predatory time traveler – even if it means using jane as bait. But can they survive the galaxies that come between them – and a madman bent on destroying them?

In Warfem a strange destiny has reunited the seductive Warfem Alina and Baird, the sexually dynamic Warlord who shared his lover’s young fantasies twenty years ago. But in this time apart, a dangerous new spark has been ignited between them. One that has held Alina captive in another’s plot of death and betrayal…

Review: Erotically charged, action, mystery, suspense, together with paranormal sci-fi elements – Knight is one heck of an author!

Jane’s Warlord

As the newspaper reporter at a crime scene, Jane Colby can only imagine how horrible the crime scene must be if the lead detective comes out and “tosses his cookies”. Upon arriving home, she faces a rather large man and what looks like a rather large wolf who broke into her home. But Baran and his partner, Freika, convince her that their there to save her, to protect her, from the murderer. Traveled back in time, Baran and his partner sent to stop the murderer and he needs Jane. Only, Jane isn’t meek. Strong, self-reliant, with a past that haunts her, she wants to fight and to use herself as bait, regardless of her fear. But not only does she accept that he’s from three hundred years into the future, she’s afraid she’s losing her heart to him, and worried about how much she’ll have changed once he goes back, for she’s losing her heart to him..

**Incredible as only Angela Knight can make it. With believable details, you really like Baran and Freika right from the start. What I liked was how Jane stood up to him even knowing that he could overpower her. I loved their banter, especially with Freika. Action was great, love scenes superb that make you squirm in your seat. Excellent plot well carried out. A truly fine story.

Warfem

Warfem Alina is carrying a file for the one she serves. She is to deliver the file, on the promise that her mistress, Rajin, would finally release her from duty and give her back her son. Baird is investigating a case of treason, afraid that his ex-lover, the woman he loved, is knee-deep in it. And while he doesn’t want to believe it, extenuating circumstances forced her to do as her mistress bid. But no more. Alina is tired of the threat Rajin holds over her son and will do whatever is necessary to get her son out of harms way. What Baird doesn’t know is that, even after twenty years, Alina still loves him, had been forced to leave him. Question is, will he understand and believe when the truth stands in front of him in the form of a ten-year-old boy?

**I liked this one. The action was great, the plot well done, even if it was small. I think Ms. Knight could have actually made this one into a novel instead of a novella, adding more to the story. I think my fave part is of the boy taking down the one person who could destroy them all. Perfect ending!

The Warlord and the Fem

Apparently, these last two first appeared on a yahoo group and added them to the book. Truthfully, I think they could have stayed out of the book. I won’t go really into deal, cause there isn’t much to begin with. Baird, a Warlord (not to be confused with Baird from Warfem – this Baird is a different character,) fights to become part of a mercenary group because of Kyna. Kyna is a Warfem, and Baird wasn’t her as his mate. But Kyna refuses, for she remembers spying on an “episode” with her sister and her Warlord, and it freaked her out. She swore to herself she would never be with a Warlord, would never play the submissive to their dominant ways in the bedroom. But Baird is determined. What I liked was that he did his damndest to “court” her, playing chess, talking, taking walks, all in the name of having her as his mate. I think, though, that Kyna could have fought him a little harder in the last scene, and while their lovemaking was great, it was short of spectacular. Could have been better – the whole story could have been.

Baby, You’ve Changed

Did not like – not one bit. There was nothing to it. Warfem Tamir and her ship, the Xe’vit, fight and lose the battle to Captain Gage Deauxville and his ship, the Intrepid. But he’s not after her ship – he’s after her. Years ago, as teens, Tamir had humiliated him, for humans aren’t strong enough to play the dominant, as Warfems need. But now Gage isn’t just merely human anymore, but a vampire, strong enough if not stronger, than Tamir. He intends to take his revenge on her in the way of how Warlord do. What I didn’t like was how. Until she submitted to him, what he was going to do was rape, and that left a sour taste in my mouth. Yes, I know that some have that fantasy, of being taken against their will. This was so not for me. Period. ‘Nough said.

Overall, I really liked the book and recommend it to any sci-fi, paranormal fan.

Special Content Alert: Light D/s

Review: Incredibly intense and sexy!

Holly is the Assistant General Manager of the Dalton Hotel. Reese is the Assistant General Manager of the Gold Star Hotel. Both hotels are owned by brothers, and after reconnecting, they decide to merge both hotels. While Reese has been doing the job for over 7 years, Holly has only been at it over 2. And now the competition starts, for the one who brings in the most new accounts will be come the General Manager, and the other will become their assistant.

Holly has no intention of working under Reese. Even though they’ve never met face to face, he’s a thorn in her backside.

With a source inside the offices of the Dalton, the men urge Reese to do something, for they desperately don’t want to work for Hard-ass Holly.

Both have been taking accounts away from each other, and are working harder than ever. And while Reese really doesn’t have to work, he enjoys the challenges that Holly throws at him.

The women in Holly’s department have become great friends with each other and Holly, and one night, during their regular Friday night drinks/dinner, Holly finally admits that she hasn’t had a date in over two years, ever since she took the job at the Dalton. She’s been putting in too many long hours just to keep up with Reese. Her sex life has also been put on hiatus, unless you count self-servicing. Her biggest fantasy: To be dominated in the bedroom. One of the women had found something very interesting online: A service that helps people live their fantasies. And with the urging and help from the women, Holly books a four-day weekend, in a french castle, with a dominating rogue.

Only, the snitch in her office relays what he overheard to the guys at the Gold Star, and the men, knowing Reese’s reputation with the ladies, urge Reese to contact that same company in hopes that he can become Holly’s rogue – leverage to use against her should she land the GM job. He agrees, barely.

But now there’s a huge problem. For Holly is the one woman who can get under Reese’s skin. She’s the one woman he’s sure he’s meant to be with. And had it not been for the cruel joke, “he could have loved her.”

**Incredibly intense and sexy. Holly is a woman to aspire to become. Strong-willed, she’s competitive and determined. And because of her job, she dominates the office, stern but fair. And that’s what makes her fantasize about being dominated in the bedroom, for only then would she be able to set her inhibitions free.

Reese has a reputation with the ladies. He knows how to please a woman, but he doesn’t kiss and tell. He loves women – he doesn’t treat them like dirt. Not ready to settle down, he doesn’t stay with the same woman long. But, in character, when he meets Holly in Paris, just the sight of her makes his heart stutter and he doesn’t actually know it’s her until later.

And now he’s fallen in love with her. But regret sets in, for the whole idea of playing her rogue was to hold the weekend over her should she get the job. But he can no longer do that. And he knows that when she finds out who he actually is, she’s going to hate him with her entire being. Convincing her is the toughest job he’s ever had.

I loved it! The light dominance had me squirming in my seat, wishing my husband wasn’t working nights, LOL! I loved the banter between them, either face to face or via email. Though both are oblivious, they are perfect for each other, and even their bosses know it. An awesome love story!

Swing

by Opal Carew

It all started with an innocent request…

Melissa’s friend Shane asked her to accompany him on a business trip to an exclusive resort, but the Sweet Surrender is no ordinary vacation spot – it’s for men and women who swing. As Melissa mingles with the other guests and discovers the resort’s fantasy rooms, she’s tempted to explore her naughty side and live out her most sinful fantasies – but she isn’t prepared for the storm of desire that awaits her. Melissa soon finds herself torn between two men, one of her oldest friends and a handsome stranger who belongs to another. Both men bring her the most exquisite pleasure, but which man will win her heart?

Opal Carew’s work has been described as “scorching,” “intoxicating,” and “brilliant,” and this is her hottest novel yet. Visit the Sweet Surrender and sample its decadent pleasures for yourself … if you can take the heat.

Review: “Scorching,” “intoxicating,” and “brilliant!”

WORD OF CAUTION: Very hot, very explicit sex scenes.

Melissa has had the hots for Shane for a while now. And she believes that Shane simply looks at her as a friend and nothing more. And being a friend, he needs her help.

Shane is looking into buying an exclusive resort, Sweet Surrender. The resort is an ordinary resort; the resort is for swingers. While single women can get in without question, single men can’t, which means Shane can’t go and check it out without a companion. And Melissa is the only one he’d trust to bring with him.

Melissa wants to balk and choke, but then the wheels in her head start turning. This is the resort that her sister mentioned. Seems she and her husband had been having difficulty lately, and her husband suggested they find a sitter for the kids and go. Melissa doesn’t like the idea one bit. Her sister isn’t a ‘swinger’ and believes they’ll be making a huge mistake. And the only way she can report anything about it to her sister, is by going with Shane.

Shane has no problem getting into the ‘swing’ of things. But Melissa is having a hard time. For everyone seems very open-minded here, uninhibited, and that’s making Melissa very uncomfortable. She doesn’t understand how two people who are supposed to be married and love each other can simply turn around and sleep with someone else. To her, that’s not the idea of commitment. And her feelings only become more confused when she watches Shane participating in an orgy. Her ‘hots’ for Shane has risen to new heights, and she finally manages to tell him.

Shane is urging Melissa to open up, let her inhibitions go. Try something new, live on the wild side. At least no one knows her here, and she can ‘play’ to her heart’s content.

And Ty wants to be the one to help her. Suzanne, the current owner of Sweet Surrender and his best friend, has asked for his help as a private investigator. She’s convinced that someone is going to check out the resort of a potential buyer, and Suzanne wants to make sure that person has a good time. Friends with benefits, he’d do anything to help his best friend. And he’s almost convinced that person is Melissa.

Ty is falling for Melissa, Suzanne is falling for Shane, Melissa is stuck between Shane and Ty, and Shane thinks he might be falling for Suzanne. Until something happens at the resort that will knock the secrets up in the air, the potential for heartbreak.

Oh, did I like this book! Really, really, really liked this book. It was recommended to me by a group of women I trust (to my fellow “P”s, you know who you are, and I’m sending a resounding THANK YOU! your way), and they didn’t steer me in the wrong at all. Very, very hot scenes that actually made me damp in several places, gave me some wicked ideas to try (wink, wink,) and with the characters emotions in the mix, this author can really entertain a reader. Her characters are real and have feelings, every day emotions that we all feel, which made me love them all the more. Through in a bit of a mystery, and I had a very hard time putting this book down. Can’t wait to read this one to hubby… See if he comes up with some ideas.. (wink, wink!) :D

WORD OF CAUTION: Very hot, very explicit sex scenes.

Spending a summer in San Francisco before starting her career, Lola is looking for fun. And when she meets the driver of a fre-engine red pickup – a guy with plenty of muscle under his own hood – she finds herself in for the hottest, hardest ride of her life…

Review: Two outta three ain’t bad…

“China Doll”  – Although a little rough in places, the author, Sunny, created engaging characters that pull you into the story. Anna, having been used and abused, was looking for someone to help exorcize the bad memories of her ex. Rand was looking for someone to have some fun with, wanting to pass the time. Rand got more than he bargained for when he fell in love with her, LOL! I’ve read the author before, and she’s really good.

“Tempted” – I’ve never read Jami Alden before; you can bet I’ll be reading her again! Her characters were very believable, some of them even quirky and making you laugh. The plot turned from a simple “I need to bring a date so no one bugs me about being single” to a full blown sexual relationship. I really liked how the characters had already known each other for a while, and how, even after the agreement that everything would go back to normal, there was no going back. Especially when one had the other for the other – and vice versa. A really good read! One teeny-tiny thing that I was disappointed about: They never used anything in the “gift basket” in the hotel room. *frown* Too bad. I was looking forward to that.

“Hot Wired” – I’ve never read the author before, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever read her again. Her story was filled with stereotypes, her characters appear shallow – very much so. And they appeared rather … high-school’ish. And while, I’ll admit, she knows how to write a really hot sex scene, that was about all that was going for the story.

All in all, I’m glad I picked this book up, and encourage you to do the same.

WORD OF CAUTION: Sexually Explicit!!!

Review: Finished Friday, November 10th, 2006. I couldn’t even begin to describe this series! I can’t tell you which book is better out of the three in the series! It seems like the further you get into it, the better it gets! Zsadist is totally different from his ‘brothers,’ and if/when you read this book, you’ll understand why. The internal struggles he lived with, how he overcame them, and with Bella at his side, had to be the best I’ve ever read, even if this book had nothing to do with vampires. Very powerful, makes your heart break, and fill with joy. The suspense is awesome, and the book grips you from start to finish, all characters, not just main, are all powerful. Review: Finished Wednesday, November 8th, 2006. Words cannot describe how I feel about this book. Somehow, fabulous, fantastic, terrific, unforgettable, even ‘unputdownable’ can’t describe it. Those words just don’t seem to be enough! Ward sucked me right into this one right from the beginning, and she never let up! MY GOD! The characters, the action, the love scenes, the confessions, the confusions, talking from the heart … no reader can help feeling sad, angry, frustrated and right down pissed. Myself, during the last few chapters, I balled. My. Head.Off. I was that sad and that angry for the characters themselves… I had no choice, I was sucked in! (No pun intended, LOL!) If you are a paranormal fan, this book will suck you right in, too! And if you’re not, this one just might push you right over and into it, the realm of the paranormal. This, like the first and I’m sure what’s to come, of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, is a series you don’t want to miss! And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Now, an ally of the Black Dagger Brotherhood will face the challnge of his life and the evil of the ages.

Butch O’Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard living, ex-homicide cop, he’s the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world – to engage in the turf war with the lessers. He’s got nothing to lose. His heart belongs to a female vampire, an aristocratic beauty who’s way out of his league. If he can’t have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers…

Fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, found by a miracle, the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him…

Review: ‘UNPUTDOWNABLE’!!! I can’t get over this series! Ward knows how to write them, and she’s turning into one of the best. Each character is unique, their own personalities, flaws and all, makes them appear incredibly read (even for vampires.) The words Ward uses to describe each character works on so many levels; you can feel their happiness, their pain, their envy, their sadness, their fear, their worries … everything, even the love and friendships they share. Fighting scenes make you hold your breath. Sex scenes … holy good god, can they make you hot under the collar! Arguments between characters makes you feel everything they feel, understand their reasoning, no matter how their flaws. This series is incredible, and if you’re into paranormal/fantasy, I can’t urge you enough to read it!!!

Review: Finished Monday, November 6th, 2006. Holy cow, what an awesome book! Words can’t begin to describe my thanks to Kathleen! Fast-paced and unputdownable, the story just kicks into high-gear and doesn’t let up! The male characters are deep, strong, and intense. The women characters just as strong and can stand up on their own and up to the males. The action is superb, the descriptions make you feel like you’re right there watching. The details of the characters give you a clear picture in your head, not only what they look like, but how they act, how they feel. It’s like watching a movie in your mind. I couldn’t ask for better, one of the best paranormals I’ve ever read!
