Nessa Dahl always had the good sense to steer clear of trouble. Then Jeremiah MacNaught showed up in New Orleans, determined to get to the bottom of a string of bank robberies by two women wearing Mardi Gras masks. Little does Nessa realize that the handsome investigator is convinced she’s involved with the crimes – or that he’s willing to do anything to get the truth. Even if it means taking the beautiful woman he’s convinced is a liar and a thief straight to bed…

Review: A joy to read!
As the third book in the series, I liked it even more than the second! This one was full of surprised! An excellent plot well played out, and characters so completely different from one another and completely colourful!
I adored Nessa. I thought she was a strong woman, brough up by strong women, with a kind and gentle heart, who’d do anything for anyone. She’d been played by someone she’d trusted, and paid dearly for that mistake.
Jeremiah is someone you’d love and want to just give him a good smack upside the head. He could be such and unbelievable jerk, but even so, you couldn’t help but root for him and Nessa. He, too, had ended up with the proverbial crap end of the stick, but he persevered, rather cynically. But he learns that not everything is as it seems – in more ways that one!
This book teemed with life in New Orleans after Katrina’s devastation. I loved the humour and the sarcasm between the characters, and the fight between Nessa and Jeremiah is not to be missed! The plot was great with twists you don’t see coming. I enjoyed it immensely!
